Overview

The Lavie Voice tablet PC app allows you to use voice commands to carry out many important tasks on your NEC PC Windows tablet. The app could be operated both by touch and by voice, which was still quite novel at the time.

I was the Art Director for the project and managed a team of two (a designer/illustrator and a motion graphics artist). Together, we handled UI/UX design, custom UI icons, character animations, interaction design, and creation of an onboarding video.

Challenge

The challenge lay in ensuring the UI elements were intuitive for voice command usage while maintaining functionality for touch control.

Solution

To address the challenge, all UI elements were clearly labeled in such a manner that you could "speak what you see" for voice command use. Additionally, an onboarding video was created to explain basic use cases and familiarize users with the app's features.

After being successfully tested, The Lavie Voice tablet PC app was pre-installed on select Lavie NEC PC models in early 2015.

I would love to hear all about your new project, Let's chat.
